The initial shock of chill wore off as soon as stepping on to dry land, so we all had to take the plunge a number of times, that is, everyone but Sweety. Nobby is our wild child! Not only does she really swim with no vest (she has one on here for safety) but she took one look and wanted to be one of the first down! Here she is with J-Man, another first to go brave soul.
It was hard to leave that spot but we ventured on to Silver Run Falls a little way down the road. Loud thunder drove us away from there after only a few moments.
For dinner we roasted hot dogs around the fire pit in the back yard. No outdoor cook out can be complete without smores.
Then Dibs put the fire out by hauling water from the stream. All of this, of course made me sentimental about wanting to camp out "for real" but my DH wouldn't hear of it. As the little ones embraced me with their ketchup and chocolate stained hands I am grateful for modern luxuries like washing machines and hot water. Really I am. But today was sooo much fun!
