Here's What's Happening on My Side of the World

M tried out for "Anne of Avonlea" tonight. She was going for the part of Diana Berry. If she gets a part we should hear something in a week or two. V really wanted to try out as well, but she wasn't old enough.

J is totally into WWII history now for some reason. He's very upset because his Boyscout troop is going to spend three days and nights on the USS Yorktown in a few weeks and I didn't sign him up. A parent has to attend with the child. For practical reasons we just can't do it. Even if we could, just thinking about having to spend three days and nights in the belly of a ship gives me the willies. I told him our family could drive out there and spend a day touring the museum and ships, etc... He wasn't satisfied. Normally tears do not sway me, but Joseph lives from the heart so I will have to see if I can manage a day trip or something soon.

C is in what I call the "hold me, hold me" stage of her life. I spend much of my day with both arms full of babies. This stage normally only lasts a few weeks. E fell out of the stage quickly when she discovered graham crackers and milk. Should I be sad that a good snack seems a suitable replacement for the loving arms of a mother? No - I'll go to the store tomorrow. :-)

Also, tomorrow should be the last day of construction in the closets and laundry rooms. I am told our kitchen cabinets will be finished six weeks from today. Kitchen demolition and construction will begin the 1st week of March and last for 3 to 4 weeks.
