Labor Day

We will be starting our fifth week of school and all is well! We had a bit of an adventure with baby squirrels. Two of them didn't recover from the long fall from their nest onto the hard driveway below, but one is doing nicely under the loving care and protection of Tink. Tomorrow she goes to work and school so I get to take over the job for a while.

Labor day weekend has left me exhausted as I used the opportunity to get work done. I cleaned the garage, detailed and washed the cars, fried chicken, cooked a roast, chili, and lasagna, (so I don't have to make dinners this week), baked chocolate chip muffins for today's breakfast and fried homemade doughnuts for tomorrow, painted the banister trim and rails, and shopped for shoes on sale for Rocky who can't seem to ever find the ones he owns. Whew!!

Isn't the idea of Labour Day to rest from our labours???? LOL!

Yes, but in a way those activities are a type of rest for me. The painting and car detailing were a type of mental relaxation, the cooking was fun, the car washing was bonding with children time. Cleaning the garage was WORK, but it had to be done. :-)
