This morning was a bit hectic. We came down to begin breakfast only to discover the kitchen had not been entirely cleaned after dinner last night. I had left a certain child in charge of clean up but she-who-will-remain-nameless did not finish her task. Dishes were piled high in the sink and
countertops and the dishwashers needed to be emptied in order to be refilled. I was only going to serve cold cereal - an easy task, but there were no clean bowls until these jobs were accomplished. No bother. This was a great opportunity for the children to learn how important it is to finish a job entrusted to them and the virtue of patience in waiting to eat.
The little ones were whining, looking to me for food and feeling absolutely helpless. They all wanted me to do everything at once, but I tried explaining in a reasonable way that I have to do one job before another can begin and they must practice patience, trying to not complain.
Tigger was helping me and jumped in saying, "Yeah! I was just telling my friends that in our house we have to practice patience so much you can become a Jedi just like that!"
Tigger thinks life here is Jedi training school! :-) And so it is....
