We are in the midst of the World Series in our home. We follow it because my DH is a huge Phillies fan and has made our children in to little phillies. As a result we are all sleep deprived (the older ones). It is all in the best interest of the children though as my DH feels this is a vital part of their education. I am beginning to understand, however, that the word "fan" from the word "fanatic" isn't sufficient enough to describe a Philadelphia sports follower.
In between innings I've been reading "Frankenstein". It is the Ignatius critical edition edited by Joseph Pearce. Follow this link if you are interested. http://www.ignatius.com/ViewProduct.aspx?SID=1&Product_ID=3290&AFID=12&
(Sorry, I haven't quite figured out how to embed links yet - if you'd like to teach me please leave a comment.) I thought it would be a good book to read considering the Hallow's Eve atmosphere that is abounding right now. The story of Shelley's life sheds much light on the book itself.
Sweety is reading "Song at the Scaffold" and I plan to read that next in commemoration of All Saint's Day.
Everything is pumpkin around here. Tink added eleven little pumpkins to our front stoop in descending sizes to reflect our family. (There is a bit of pride in the children as the family has grown.) She made a very delicious pumpkin soup and several pumpkin pies. I'll be making our pumpkin muffins again and perhaps I'll make a pumpkin spice latte to go with it. :-) Why not! If any of you have pumpkin recipes you'd like to share I'd love to see them.
Speaking of recipes, I am the proud new owner of a autographed copy of "Grace Before Meals" by Fr. Leo. He has a great website at gracebeforemeals.com. PBS is doing a wonderful show with him as his mission is to bring the family back together by bringing them back to the table. I had the pleasure of seeing him at the Catholic Media conference a few months ago and then J-Man met him in Australia at World Youth Day. He actually picked J-Man out of the crowd (small world) to help act out something on stage. That is how I happened to now be the owner of this book as he gave it to J-Man to thank him for his help.
His recipes are fairly simple. He offers serving suggestions as well as how to make things more aesthetically pleasing (something I need to work on). It is really more than a recipe book, it is a book about sharing family experiences year round and getting to know and love each other more around the table. Go to the web site!!

Embedding a hyperlink is easy. Just above the box where you're composing are your tools---font, bold, etc. Just look for the little green globe w/ a chain link on it, click it and paste in the link.
Also, have you visited Goodness Gracious Abiding from my sidebar? She has another blog, the Backpacking Cakester, and has just posted some yummy fall recipes. Go visit her!
