We finished My Side of the Mountain yesterday while running errands. The kids enjoyed it though they got a little tired of hearing about acorn pancakes. We had a good discussion with J and P about how all boys don't "really" want to run away. J was very disappointed with the way the book ended. I can't tell why or I'd give the ending away. I'll have to go to the library before we leave for vacation and load up with more books on cd.
M spent most of her free time Tuesday listening to The Trumpeter of Krakow on cd. She loved it! After listening to it for a few hours she asked me, "Is this for school?" She thinks if something is enjoyable it couldn't possibly be for her benefit.
V, big J and I played scrabble on the computer last night as I was settling E and T into bed. It is good to have him home from college. He was very talkative. They were cheating, looking up words in the pop-up dictionary, but I didn't mind. I was happy V was learning new words.
E ended up on our injured list. She was running while wearing V's flip-flops. I was just about to tell her that wasn't a good idea when she tripped on them and broke her fall with her face. (ouch!) She ended up with a good sized knot on her forehead and her previously slightly loose tooth is now hanging on by a thread. A few ice packs, two spoonfuls of Tylenol and a milkshake did the trick. She was good as new by the afternoon.

We call that "Educational Scrabble" where you get to look up your possible word and tell everyone the definition!
Our big girl is home from college, too! :)
Carol, I'm so enjoying reading your blog. It's wonderful, and I feel like I'm getting to know your beautiful family better. Thank you for being such a great witness to Catholic motherhood and our duty to trust God and nurture souls in Christ.
I enjoyed seeing you yesterday at the New Media Celebration. Keep writing!
Peace & Prayers,
Kate
