Going through our books today and making short term goals for the kids. I think this will give them a little wind in their learning sails to help us push through the winter months which are always the most difficult.
Yesterday's snow brought many neighborhood children over. I made enough hot cocoa to last the weekend and kept shoe stations at each of the doors but it didn't do much to keep the wet and dirt from being tracked in everywhere. Things are a wreck anyway due to the laundry room being in our dining room so the mess didn't get to me. I just have to vacuum often to keep little T from eating things she shouldn't.
We split up the family this a.m. for going to Mass due to the harsh cold. I went by myself early and J took the older children later while I stayed home with the little ones. While I love every Mass, when I am able to go by myself and actually hear and see everything without interruption, it is like heaven. It truly is heaven. Don't get me wrong, Mass is still heaven amid all the children's commotions and stirrings, it is just that I'm not as attentive to heaven as I am to the children. :-)
