The caffeine is out the door and I thought my motivation would go out with it, but I'm still kicking! We are in the midst of the wonderful time of Advent and celebrations that make it difficult for me to even think of turning to my blog. Yesterday was the feast of Juan Diego and Friday is the feast of Our Lady of Guadaloupe. St. Nicholas' feast day was wonderful and Monday's feast of the Immaculate Conception can equal no other except for Christmas and Easter. I feel like we are in heaven during this time with so much to take pause and meditate upon. The Church is wise to fill this time of year with so many occasions to celebrate to make the cold of winter a little easier to bear.
Today we are preparing for an occasion to feast though not a feast day in the liturgical sense. Our J-Man will be returning home for a few weeks from college! Our whole family will be together for a little while.
If anyone is looking for me between feasting, they can find me knee deep in clothes as I clean out the kids' closets and take inventory of their needs. I've decided finally that there isn't any use in packing up clothes to keep because none of the younger children are the same sizes or seasons as their older siblings. It is infuriating for me to open a box of clothes I spent time packing up to save for a younger sibling only to find that none of them fit because they are a different body type all together. It isn't hard for me to give it all away because I know I didn't spend too much on it to begin with as I buy things on sale. I have about six garbage bags full of clothes to go to Good Will at present and I'm not done yet.
As for school, we are tying in all of our learning around the feast days. There is so much to do, enjoy and learn about in our faith there is no reason to venture in to the "ordinary time" of our curriculum.
