Math, Money and J-Man

I made a radical decision by switching our math curriculum in the middle of the year. I purchased Teaching Textbooks for Algebra I, Math 7 and Math 5. The kids love them so much I can't get them off the computer. The rule is they can do as much as they can in an hour. They've been completing several lessons a day. The beauty of this particular math curriculum is that it teaches, corrects and grades itself!

We also read a new series of books for kids by the popular Dave Ramsey. They were all cute, no nonsense stories about saving, spending and giving money as the kids learn of the adventures of Dollar Bill. The children enjoyed these as well. Even little JPII understood that using found money is wrong when she exclaimed, "That's stealing", in her cute little three year old voice, long before "Junior" learns his lesson in "Integrity".

We read about Thanksgiving yesterday. Each of the kids has jobs the next few days as we prepare our home for guests. The air is thick with the anticipation of J-Man's return home for a few days from college! We are all so excited but I just remembered I have an obligation out just when he is supposed to arrive! Argh!
