A New Child by Friday

When we were on our vacation we strolled through the very touristy streets of Gatlinburg. Down one quaint little side street there was a book store whose door was wide open inviting the touristy types to enter, so I did. I promised DH I would be just a moment as he had all the children with him. I entered and grabbed the book that had caught my eye, "Have a New Kid by Friday". Having heard of this book about changing a child's behavior but having no intention of purchasing the book, I held it up high for DH to see so we could discuss it a little as we strolled. Subsequently, I saw Sweety's face fall as though she were in shock!

I returned it to the shelf and ran out to the family, beginning to tell DH about what I had heard about the book. Sweety, my literal darling, said, "Wait! You want another kid by Friday?!" We all laughed as I explained quickly that the book wasn't about physically having another child, but that an existing child may have a new attitude and act like a new child.

As we strolled DH and I joked about how people can make money writing such a book and who these people might be. Some authors of books like this don't even have children. Then we said something to the effect that we, having a little experience, could write something and then retire! Then Bronky quickly said, "Yeah, the title could be, "How to Raise a Bully!"

I guess we'll have to keep working......
