Our school is pretty organized but even though I am having to appoint times for each of the children to meet with me each day and I will be making a large poster for myself so that I can see at a glance that I've covered each subject with each child. I currently have one 8 x 10 chart but I rarely look at it. If it is on the wall I'm sure eventually I'll find a way to avoid looking at that as well. :-)
I'll also have to find a smoother transition between each 6 week session as far as updating and synchronizing my notebook with each child's notebook.
I had the wonderful opportunity of sharing our homeschool environment with a friend who has since decided to homeschool! I thought that surely after she saw how we do things and how, even though I am organized, things look chaotic, she would decide to keep her child in school. I hear myself giving advice and encouragement that I would give myself and it pumps me up and gets me ready again to tackle another year. So, what did I say? I said to consider that if I had only this one year to spend teaching my child, what is it that I would teach and pass on? It is good practice for me to teach my children as though this is the only time I will ever have with them. Homeschooling is a precious gift.
