You Had to be There

Today is not just any Friday, it is the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. This is a big day for us! Because it is on a Friday it means for me that my normal tunafish sandwich was replaced with some leftover chicken. Please stay with me... The following interchange took place as I was taking the meat off the chicken bones for the lunch. The kids were hovering around as I was doing this so I used it as a teaching opportunity. Yesterday we discussed that blood cells are made in the bone marrow, so I took a chicken leg, nibbled off the cartilage and proceeded to show the kids the bone marrow in the chicken leg.

Sweety (acting disgusted):"So, you ate the end of a chicken bone to show us! Mom! That's CANNIBALISM!!"

Me: "Sweety! It's a CHICKEN!"

Bronky: "No! It's CHICKENABALISM!"

By this time Sweety and I are rolling on the floor in hysterics when Bronky says for effect: "Seriously, Mom, that's chickenabalism!"
