8:30 - Daddy J drops J off at flag football practice. Game starts at 9:00. Drives feverishly across town to take P to his T-ball game at 9:00. He has little C with him.
Mommy C makes phone calls to see if some dear people can pick up M, V and E for a gymnastics exhibition at 9:45 which starts at 10:00 so that she can rush over to watch J's flag football game as it may get rained out and he'll be hungry, cold and all alone. (Likely not, as he was left with friendly, neighborly people, but these are the thoughts that rush through a mums mind as she races to the game.) C arrives at game at 9:15 with little T who C realizes is grossly under dressed! It is O.K. at first because she is sleeping and covered with three blankets - warm and cozy.
9:45 M, V & E are picked up and taken to gymnastics exhibition which was a large success.
Rain begins to pour down over the flag football game, Mommy and little C! No where to run. No umbrella. Nice man with umbrella scoots very close to us to help. Rain lasts only about 5 minutes but we are completely drenched and C is wide awake.
10:00 a.m. J's team loses game to gangster team who tackles when they should be grabbing flags. No worries - another game to be played at 11:00 against more fair team.
Rush to car with J & T. Call dear Daddy J. P's team won t-ball game! P received the game ball for being pitcher! Very nice. Daddy J leaves T-ball park to drive to meet me half way. I leave flag football park to meet him half way. On the way J and I have a nice chat about the other team and how they were tackling when they shouldn't have been. J says, "Yeah, they were being kind of frisky!"
10:35 Half way, I switch cars with Daddy J taking P, C and T all in car seats in the back of J's car - very tight squeeze. People in parking lot get a kick out of watching me strap everyone in, I'm sure. While all four doors are open and I'm working feverishly trying to tighten straps, P asks me what would happen if he should throw his game ball out the door. I tell him that would be the end of his game ball because I am not going to get it back for him. He looks long and hard at his game ball.
Daddy J takes J back to flag football field for game at 11:00.
Mommy C rushes to gymnastics event which must be over by now but there is another one at 1:00. Oh No, T and I are soaking wet and we don't have a card to get in to gymnastics event to pick up kids.
I rush home, change T into dry clothes, strap children into large van and T gets a new car seat which turns forward facing (she is just now 1 and 20 pounds) as her other car seat is soaking wet from the rain. I get my admittance card and am off back to the event.
11:30 get to event while talking to T on the phone who has called from Honduras. I drive through the parking lot. I can't go in because all three little ones have fallen asleep in the back and I realize the mother who brought my children isn't there anymore and is likely bringing my children home. Must've passed her and will go home.
11:30 J's flag football game has been called due to rain. Daddy J and J are on their way home and will go by event to check again for M, V & E.
Noonish. Pouring down rain Mommy C arrives home with sleeping P, C and T in car while still talking on phone with T. I decide to stay in the car, warm and dry and let sleeping children lie - or sit up straight with heads slumped to the side as the case may be. Are you asleep yet? Just checking... I am not.
Daddy J and J join M, V and E at gymnastics event. Daddy J is impressed as he hasn't seen them perform before. He is surprised at how much M can do with a broken finger!
1:15 They all arrive home to find me in the car still talking to T and P, C and T still sleeping. By the way, Peter is still clutching his game ball.
We all took afternoon naps. :-)
