With spring here our schooling has taken on a new fresh life like the great outdoors. There is energy and excitement as we can see we are reaching the end of our books. We are spending more time outdoors, taking walks and riding bikes. Today P & E rode their bikes a mile around our neighborhood while I strolled the two little ones behind. J didn't come because he had left his bike at a friend's house. P was a real trooper. He obeyed all the rules! He was so excited pedalling his little 12" bike as hard as he could while ringing the little bell.
In the kitchen we discovered pancake art quite by accident. Tomorrow I will try my hand at more original artwork. I googled it and discovered that I wasn't the first to delve into this area as someone had made elephants, tigers and bears, etc... - and I had only begun with spirals and swirls. The trick is to put a design of batter down first, wait ten seconds and then add more batter over the original, wait ten more seconds and then add more. The batter that has been down the longest is darker than the rest. Doesn't everyone need a creative outlet? ;-)
