Today was the feast day of St. Veronica but we didn't celebrate much. V enjoyed desert while the others are going off sweets for a while. We were going to give up sugar anyway, so Lent is really giving us a good reason to do this now. Tonight J asked if he could have sweets on Easter. I told him he'd get alot of sweets on Easter and they'll taste 100% better for not having had any during Lent. His answer was an enthusiastic, "Yeah for Lent!!" :-)
I'm still prayerfully discerning my Lenten commitments....
We went to the Y pool today for the first time since before T was born. I was hoping to wear out P and C who've had an abundance of kinetic energy lately. I'll try to make this a more regular thing. M will be oriented on the weight machines this Wednesday so that will give her a reason to want to go as well.
E finished her red reader which gave us another reason to celebrate over the weekend. When I went to look for the second yellow reader it WASN'T THERE ON THE SHELF WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE! I am a little annoyed by this but will carry on.
P and E made a big deal about groundhog day on Saturday. Spring is supposed to start early. They were so excited that they ran out to our garden and started weeding furiously. We've decided to plant only tomatoes and cucumbers this year so that we might have some hint of success. All the older kids are laughing at me. This year.....this year will be different! :-)
